How to use Threebalance’s advanced trading features

Threebalance is not only a portfolio rebalancing tool, but also a portfolio tracker with an advanced swapping flow. In this article, we explain how to use it to improve your trading experience with 1inch.

What is Threebalance?

If you are new here, this quick intro is for you. Threebalance is a portfolio rebalancing tool with a friendly interface and simple user flow. You don’t need to be a portfolio management or investment guru to start using it. Only three steps are required to rebalance your portfolio to the desired allocation. Please check this article to understand the philosophy behind rebalancing and to receive guidance through every step.

But what if you don’t apply any rebalancing tactics? What are the benefits of using Threebalance for situative traders and the general crypto community?

Threebalance is a top-of-DEX tool built on the 1inch API. No matter how good you are at the science of portfolio management, the DApp enables you to rebalance (change portfolio allocation), reposition (sell one token and buy another), or trade multiple tokens through its interface in one flow.

Threebalance is fully self-custodial. This means we don’t hold any of your tokens, and all the interactions with a blockchain happen through 1inch. Consider all associated financial, security, and smart contract risks.

Threebalance as a top-of-DEX tool

Threebalance uses the 1inch API, which means users have access to the best on-chain liquidity pools. All the tokens supported by 1inch are available for trading on Threebalance. What makes it more advanced, then?

We offer an interface with automated calculations to improve your trading experience. You don’t need to switch between tokens and networks, check contract addresses, manually calculate your exposure, etc. Just select all the tokens you want to trade on a specific chain (we support Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum One, Optimism, and Base at the moment), and set up your desired allocations as percentages of your portfolio. The DApp will create routes for the corresponding trades. All you need to do is to approve and confirm all the transactions in your wallet.

Example. Our example portfolio consists of USDC (USDC.e) and some ETH (for paying gas fees). We aim to buy BTC and ARB tokens for short-term speculation.

First, navigate to the DApp and connect your wallet by clicking on Get Started:

Check your current holdings and select which assets you want to rebalance:

The next step is the most important. First, click on the New Asset and add ARB and WBTC. Specify how many USDC and USDC.e to sell and how many new tokens to buy. Now it works as percentages, in the near future, we’ll add numeric values also.

In the next step, Threebalance calculates all the necessary trades, and all you need to do is confirm the transactions:

Press Rebalance and finish all the swaps. That’s all. Congrats!

Compared to any DEX, all the swaps on Threebalance are executed in one flow, without manual switching between tokens and adding contract addresses. As long as tokens are supported by 1inch and enough liquidity is available, you can freely trade using the DApp, saving your time.

Convert small balances using Threebalance

Major CEXs have a helpful feature — you can convert your small balances to the exchange’s native token.

DEXs don’t offer the same functionality, so if you want to do the same on-chain, you must tediously swap all of your small-balance tokens individually.

Threebalance makes it easy to convert your small balances on-chain in one place and one flow. Moreover, you can exchange them for any other supported token (not just an exchange’s native token)! So, if you have any token leftovers, Threebalance can be the right tool to quickly swap them for any other asset you need.

How to do so? Simply select the assets you want to convert and your target token, review and confirm the necessary transactions — and voila, you’ve now gotten rid of all these crumbs in your wallet.

Conclusion

Threebalance can be used as a portfolio tracker tool with advanced swapping flow. For example, it can help you save time and reduce manual work when swapping or converting small balances to any asset of your interest.
