The day has finally come. After two and a half years of development, the Qoda team is ready to take the first step towards decentralizing the Qoda Ecosystem. Today, we are announcing the launch of the $QODA token via a Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool (“LBP”) on Fjord Foundry.
Read this article to learn all about the $QODA LBP, and how to participate.
What is a Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool (LBP)?
TL;DR: Qoda is opting for an LBP because it’s a great mechanism for on-chain price discovery. It deters whales and bots, which are known to typically exploit token launches, by ensuring a fair, market-driven process for all participants.
LBPs are a revolutionary approach to facilitating fair and transparent token launches on-chain. They operate similarly to a Dutch Auction, where prices start high and decrease over time. The rate at which the price decreases is determined by the LBP’s parameters and its level of participation. This price discovery process is what differentiates LBPs from traditional, on-chain liquidity pools.
The LBP mechanism is strategically employed by crypto projects to mitigate the likelihood of price manipulation by sniper bots and whales. Participants have the opportunity to engage in community-driven price discovery, buying tokens at a price point they find equitable. LBPs represent a significant advancement in creating a balanced and inclusive environment for token distribution.
More details about LBPs and their features can be found in the Fjord Documentation.

FAQ
How do I participate in the $QODA LBP on Fjord?
Go to the LBP page and connect your wallet. Select your source token (e.g. USDC), enter the desired amount and swap.

Please note that Fjord Foundry is a third party platform with their own terms of use.
Which chain is the $QODA LBP on? Which tokens can I use to purchase $QODA tokens on Fjord Foundry?
The $QODA token LBP will operate on Ethereum. You can use ETH, USDT, USDC, and several other tokens to get $QODA tokens on Fjord.
Which network will the Official $QODA token be native to?
The Official $QODA token will be native to Arbitrum One. So, given the Fjord LBP is taking place on Ethereum, $QODA tokens purchased are a synthetic proxy for use in the LBP only. After the LBP ends, $QODA token purchases will be exported from Fjord, and purchasers’ wallet addresses will be airdropped $QODA tokens via Sablier on Arbitrum One at TGE.
It is not possible to change the recipient wallet address on Arbitrum One. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please ensure you use the correct wallet address to purchase $QODA tokens during the LBP.
How is the LBP’s Synthetic $QODA token different from the Official $QODA token on Arbitrum One?
The Synthetic $QODA LBP token is solely created for the Fjord LBP. Since the LBP takes place on Ethereum and the Official $QODA token will be native to Arbitrum One, it is necessary to create a synthetic token to facilitate the LBP.
Synthetic $QODA ERC-20 Token Contract: https://etherscan.io/token/0x2DcDc642D0694f1c6EBcB63eFB6EE4015ba3a47F
Official $QODA ERC-20 Token ERC-20 Contract: TBD at TGE
Users who purchase Synthetic $QODA tokens via the Fjord LBP will be airdropped Official $QODA tokens via Sablier on Arbitrum One at TGE at a 1-to-1 exchange rate. For example, if you buy 100 Synthetic $QODA tokens via the Fjord LBP, you will receive 100 Official $QODA tokens on Arbitrum One at TGE.
Beware of scammers! The Synthetic $QODA tokens have no utility outside the LBP. Do not use your Synthetic $QODA tokens for anything other than buying or selling them via the LBP. The only tokens that will have utility are the Official $QODA tokens on Arbitrum One, which can be freely transferred once they have been distributed.
Note the Synthetic $QODA token’s implementation is simplified to solely serve the purpose of the LBP. The Official $QODA token implementation can be found on GitHub here. All Qoda DAO contracts, including the Official $QODA token contract, are being audited by Halborn. The final report will be published separately.
How many wallets can I use? Can I perform more than one transaction?
You can use as many wallets as you want to participate in the LBP, and initiate as many transactions in the LBP as you deem appropriate.
Can I sell my Synthetic $QODA tokens during the LBP?
Yes, you can sell your Synthetic $QODA tokens back to the LBP. This is a common practice for reputable LBPs on Fjord.
Where can I view the $QODA tokens I have acquired?
Before the completion of the LBP, you can check the tokens you have acquired by viewing your balance on Fjord Foundry. Connect your wallet, head to our LBP page, and check the amount of tokens in the buy module situated at the top right of the page. Alternatively, look at your wallet transactions on Etherscan.
When will I receive my Official $QODA tokens? Is there any lock-up?
Users who purchase Synthetic $QODA tokens via the Fjord LBP will be airdropped Official $QODA tokens via Sablier on Arbitrum One at TGE at a 1-to-1 exchange rate.
100% of Official $QODA tokens will be claimable immediately at TGE. There is no lock-up period.
When is the TGE and what is it?
The Token Generation Event (TGE) is the moment when a token is first generated on the blockchain and becomes available to the public.
The Official $QODA TGE is scheduled to take place soon after the LBP ends, between June 4 and June 7. We’ll announce the exact date and time after the LBP ends.
When will the Official $QODA token be listed on a DEX and/or CEX?
The Official $QODA token will be listed on Uniswap on Arbitrum One on the TGE. The core team will create the Official Uniswap V2 $QODA/$USDC Liquidity Pool after all tokens have been distributed to LBP participants. This pool plays an essential role in the Qoda DAO’s staking mechanism.
We intend to list the $QODA token on one or more reputable CEXes in 2024. Given our focus is DeFi, we are prioritizing on-chain liquidity first.
How much liquidity will be seeded to the Official Uniswap V2 $QODA/$USDC Liquidity Pool?
40% of the LBP’s net USDC proceeds and 2% of the $QODA total supply (from the Corporate Treasury) will be used to seed liquidity in the official pool.
What happens to unsold $QODA tokens in the LBP?
Any unsold $QODA tokens will be retained in the Corporate Treasury for later use.
What are the benefits of the $QODA token for long-term holders?
The $QODA token can be staked to earn $veQODA. This token, $veQODA, automatically grants its holders Qoda DAO membership, entitling them to $QODA rewards and the ability to vote on governance proposals that dictate the future of the Qoda DAO. The only way to acquire $veQODA is by staking $QODA tokens.
